pat radio focuses on the Columbus, Ohio music scene. We do regular podcasts which feature interviews with local and regional bands and musicians. We also have guest d.j.s and live, in-studio performances from time to time. You can stream any of the latest shows from the built-in player, and more information about each show is below.

WCRS: If you live in Columbus and would like to listen to pat radio over the airwaves, you
can tune into the show on Wednesday evenings at 9 p.m. on WCRS, 102.1 FM in the Northeast corner of town, 98.3 FM in the O.S.U. campus, Clintonville, Grandview and environs.

Carlos, Luke and Zach of Flotation Walls talk about their new album Nature, which has its release this Friday at Skully's with an expanded band. Brainbow and The Receiver are also on the bill. Also, as a warm-up, you might want to stop by the Peach District Classic, which is happening at 247 King Ave., between Dragon Fly and Viking Carry Out. Trains Across the Sea, Marvin the Robot, Kingsli and others are playing there on Friday from 3-11 p.m.

I have a working turntable! I repeat: I have a working turntable. To celebrate I made an mp3 out of side 1, track 1 of the first record I ever bought.

Somewhere around 1993, I committed the tragic error of selling off my vinyl collection. I saved a couple records, Desolation Boulevard being one of them.

This week I talk to Jesse and Casey Cooper of The Receiver. They have a cd release party this Friday for their latest lp, Length of Arms. We also hear two new Mors Ontologica songs and talk to Drew Clausen of Mors about the annual Black Box Benefit, going on this Saturday night at Ruby Tuesdays.

I went to Metronome House for the first time in a few months last night. The last group up was Old Hundred. Below are a couple videos from Old Hundred's myspace. It appears these were recorded last month at Monster House and are credited to lead singer Blake Skidemore.

I like the harmonies and the interplay between guitar and mandolin. It was a perfect soundtrack for what was essentially the first summer evening of the year. You can see Old Hundred this Wednesday night with Wing and Tusk at Carabar.

I chat on the phone with Mike and the DBK from Your Favorite Assassin, and we hear four tracks from their new cd, Like a Saint Like a Fiend. Guinea Worms have a show tonight at the Summit with the Jellyhearts. Also, darynyck are re-releasing the Sasquatch Sessions at Scarlet and Grey Cafe tonight. Finally, Kyle Sowash and Lydia Loveless are at Metronome House on Sunday.
